Cork based songwriter Barry John, is a songwriter of alternative folk songs. Many might know him from his involvement with Cork bands Kilterr and Hadji Ba. Barry gets his two greatest loves, folk and alternative rock and crashes them together to create songs that you can’t help nod your head too and songs that make you prick your ears to listen that little more intently. Known for his skill in penning thought provoking lyrics, his knack for writing catchy melodies has also not gone unnoticed.

Barry aims to get involved with publishing and is armed with over 80 songs. He is one of the most versatile writers you will ever come across. He can just as easily write you an indie rock songs as he could a pop or country hit. He can compose instrumental music and incorporates this ear to help compose over 20 songs made for the big screen or TV. Barry thrives in a collaborate environment and would be the ideal writer to help support up and coming and established artists.

A published writer and a skilled musician, his work has been recorded by award winner Pauline Scanlon from Lumiere and he has played with artist like Frances Black, John Spillane and Finbarr Wright.
