Bouvetøya is an Irish based electronic artist producing old school melodic electronica and ambient soundscapes

Heavily influenced by a style of electronic music referred to as "Berlin School", Bouvetøya generates an eclectic mix of sequences, beats, pads, echoes, mellotrons, and modulars; creating soundscapes which often break out into structured melodies which fragment into an aural cosmic tangent off into the stellar unknown.

Though mainly studio based, Bouvetøya emerged from the catacomb of his teutonic electronic studio for the occasional live performance during 2012, most notably at the NCH Dublin in December.

"I see the analogue sequencer as an instrument in itself. it is organic, it is real, it provides a rhythm that can be manipulated, it changes direction, it goes out of control occasionally, but more importantly.....it doesn't need a mouse or a laptop"

With three albums released to date, available on iTunes and Amazon, Bouvetøya is currently working on his next project - Thorium IV - due for release Summer 2013.
