Carthage Carroll is set to release his debut solo album entitled "The Lost and Found" later this year. With a background originally in classical piano and orchestra Carthage has strived to combine these elements with his original work. This is reflected in the album's sound which is a collage of strong melody and lush vocal harmonies over a heavy backdrop of driven guitars.
It was while at school that Carthage turned his attention to guitars and founded his first band, ‘Fiction’ who went on to release a number of singles. After 'Fiction', Carthage began working on demos with producer, Pat Donne. In the interim he was offered a place in medical school and qualified a couple of years ago. He is now about to release and tour his debut album, "The Lost and Found" which is due out later this year. With many years of live performance and gigging under his belt, involving everything from rock gigs to piano bars, he is excited about gigging the album.
'The Lost and Found' was recorded in Temple Lane studios Dublin, Ireland and Manhattan Center Studios, New York, USA. It addresses the themes of social breakdown, mortality, religious hypocrisy and personal struggle for balance.
Guest performances on the album include Anto Drennan (Genesis, The Corrs) and Corina Brouder (Sex and the City soundtrack). Dave Keegan, session drummer and long-time musical accomplice performed drums and percussion. The album was recorded and produced by Pat Donne, mixed by Pat Donne and Carthage and mastered by Fergal Davis at Suite Studios. Instruments by Carthage.
All songs and music written by Carthage.
