Children Of The Son are three brothers Max, Art and Jack from County Wicklow, Ireland.

Max found himself when he found music. It became everything. He discovered his identity and a fresh and enduring sense of liberty when he took up playing the guitar at an early age. Tens of thousands of hours spent in his bedroom, his Gibson is now an extension of himself. This led Nick Kelly in The Irish Independent to write: 'Max is the songwriter in chief and a virtuoso guitar prodigy, whose way with a riff could knock the top hat off Slash'!

'But it's all about the songs' he told Dave Hanratty in Hotpress....'What are rock songs but pop songs with distortion?' “That’s really all a rock band is. When you’re in a band you have to understand the mechanics of a good pop song. You can strip those songs back to just an acoustic guitar and they sound really great once you have a good singer."

Jack is his younger brother and the lead singer. He stands at 6ft 2 with a vocal range of 4 octaves. The 15-year-old is in possession of the kind of pipes that led Bono’s coach to declare him the most “young and raw” vocal talent she had come across in 30 years. He quit School along with his brother Art, while Max turned down Trinity college, to collectively spend every hour of every day, writing playing & recording.“I don’t really try to emulate anyone, I just try to be me,” he told Hotpress. “When I look at a band live, if they have a really good frontman, great – but I don’t want to be like any of them. I want to be Jack Matthews, I want to be myself. If you look at the best frontmen, the really great ones have done something nobody else has done. They created their own thing. That’s what I want to do.” Iconic rock Photographer Robert Knight came over from LA and said about Jack "Today I felt like I was at ground zero for something big and that I might have just photographed the next Robert Plant.”

Art is the middle brother and is ripping on Bass. He is the in house engineer. He is the quieter of the three but is the glue and organizer of the band, whether organizing them into the studio to record, or keeping them to a tight daily schedule. He also has a powerful voice & contributes to backing vocals.

Hello World was their Debut EP released last April and according to Hotpress "caused a stir for its artwork, which featured singer Jack in a pose reminiscent of the young lad on the cover of U2's boy, as well as it's relentless, classic rock sound". The band have being literally writing & recording since September, from dawn to dusk, soon to record their Debut Single with a four time Grammy Producer which is due for release early summer. The resulting new sound is so melodic and lyrical.

Their dream is always to “write great songs, make people happy and become one of the biggest bands in the World'”

They already have enough material for their first album.

The three brothers all play a huge part in the songwriting process....breaking down the songs and rebuilding them back together. All their songs are deeply personal...The recurring themes are truth and love.

Influences are wide-ranging from the likes of Radiohead, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones...and everybody.

When Jack vocals boom out, he stirs deep emotions, making Eugene Masterson ask 'Could he be the next Bono, we wonder?' While Jack's 'unflinching passion for all things music is like a shot of adrenaline'...said Hotpress.

Being a band of brothers means the world... Their bond is brothers and music is their lives....there is no other option.

Eddie Rowley after seeing them live said: "They are Mesmerising! We haven't seen anything like these guys since U2 set the world on fire"...

They were guests of Slash two weeks ago when he played in Ireland. He loves the band & is staying in touch and planning a link up soon.
Also Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy plays them regularly on the Tour bus and said' You don't have to sell these guys to me...I know they are the real thing!' Scott has even offered to open a few doors for them!

Hotpress have labelled Children Of The Son as Hot for 2013...While Children Of The Son are delighted to learn that Radio 1 Boss, head of music, George Ergatoudis, predicts that guitar bands are set for resurgence and 'guitar music is definitely on the way back!' Awesome!
