Danny O' Hanlon

Alternative // Galway City, Galway

I, Danny O' Hanlon, am the product of a completely misspent youth. Not misspent on alcohol, drugs, petty crime or anything so predictable as that - but on music. I've been playing guitar since I was 12 and gigging since I was 14 (to mixed results of course but dammit, I was there!). Somewhere between digging 'Neil Young Unplugged' out of my father's cassette collection and chancing on Beck's 'Odelay', it suddenly seemed like it would be a good idea to start writing my own songs. Throwing my hat into the ring, you might say. And now that I've been lumbered with the life of the musician, I couldn't be happier.

I obsessively four-tracked my way through dozens of dreadful 'albums' only to see the songs get gradually better and the performances steadier. At 27 I finished the first EP I saw fit to inflict on my fellow man and I haven't looked back. Only late at night, to make sure nobody's following me.

I have no impressive support slots or quotes from local music rags to drop here. If you are so inclined, give the tunes a listen and form your own opinion. If not, I dig. It's a big world out there.
