Emily Whelan is an up and coming singer-song writer from the picturesque costal village Ardara in Co Donegal. She is busy working on the release of her third single “The Mmm Song”, to follow up the success of previous single's "Fred" released in Dec 2011 and “Life” which hit national radio stations across Ireland since its release in June 2011.
Emily had a busy 2012 touring the length and breath of the Country, she was sponsored by Bus Éireann in the Summer of 2012 and completed a Nationwide tour around Ireland right up until December. She also landed a tour with well known singer Jack Lukeman where she supported him on his famous "27 Club Tour" and played in some of the best venues around the Country including the Olympia Theatre in Dublin. She then managed to secure a third tour this time supporting the front man of "The Rev's" Rory Gallagher (Jimmy's winning matches). Emily has supported some well established names including The Henry Girls, Bagatelle, and Aslan on gigs throughout the country. She has impressed audiences with intensity and passion from her live performances, captivating her listeners.
Emily’s songs are about Life, love and everything in between. Sometimes quirky, sometimes heart-breaking but never boring, she has a unique style that cannot be pigeonholed into any conventional genre. The searing emotions contained in her lyrics are delivered with such dynamism in her live performances that the audience is captivated until the last breath. The songs will hold you and move you and linger in your mind in ways that only music with real meaning can.
