Hugh Hick is a singer, storyteller and wearer of waistcoats. His songs generally concern politics and narcissism or similar themes, drawing influence from the likes of Nick Cave and Tom Waits and exploring soundscapes ranging from tender piano based ballads to grungier stompers alongside his band The Priory.
He has been featured on RTE’s 2XM and 103.2 Dublin City FM and recently performed at both Electric Picnic and Hard Working Class Heroes. He also performed at The Liquor Rooms in the Clarence Hotel as part of the celebrations marking the end of The Gathering at the end of 2013. He has been selected as one of Whelan's 'Ones To Watch' for 2015
Alongside his music work, Hugh is also a spoken word artist, having performed his unique twisted brand of monologue all over Dublin. He presents "The Sessions" every Wednesday evening on 103.2 Dublin City FM, the station's weekly showcase of the best in Irish music.
