Layne County

Rock // Dublin, Dublin

Layne County formed in County Mayo five years ago.

Their music is marked by warmth and groove, but also a leaning towards old-school chaos.

The band are Swinford-natives Martin Dyar (vocals, guitar), Darragh Golden (guitar, vocals), James Conry (drums, vocals), and Galwayman John Keaveney (bass).

The songs available here on Breaking Tunes are the fruit of studio time with renowned Cork-based producer Ciaran O'Shea. www.ciaranosheamusic.com

Below are the lyrics to Catastrophe, a popular song in the Layne County live set and the opening track on their eponymously titled debut EP:

Catastrophe

As the catastrophe hit, we lay there kissing. My lover in black she said 'Listen Baby, listen. I think I hear the sun outside on the path, and he seems to be singing a farewell song.'

Half a world and half a love seem to be good enough.

As the catastrophe hit, we lay there kissing. My lover in black she said, 'Listen Baby, listen. I want to see you grow more quiet. And I want you to know that the heart is a tool and a weapon: when you're digging me you kill me.'

Deep in the eyes of my love I read 'Leave if you can.'
