Scariff, County Clare
Formed in 2010 Mustang Hobo are a dynamic, eclectic three-piece playing an individual, whacky blend of funk, rock, fusion, jam, reggae, psyche-post-jazzamatazz – lyrically weaving strange tales and social commentary. Our demo EP was somehow reviewed and positively received by Hotpress in June, and after a 2011 touring the best music venues all over the country – including regular spots in the Rois...in Dubh, Galway – we have garnered a loyal fanbase and received praise in various reviews, which often compare us to the likes of Primus or Captain Beefheart.
"The Clare group mix an eclectic range of genres, coupled with an energetic and comic delivery, to deliver a massively entertaining show. Do not miss this chance to see one of the country’s freshest and most original acts" The Galway Independent.
We spent much of 2011 supporting some of our musical friends, including Ilenkus, Protobaby and legendary saxophonist Nik Turner, formerly of Hawkwind. Our broad appeal and musical affinity with both ‘70s progressive and contemporary post-rock means that our audience is spread over a wide age bracket. We soak up the last of the demographic with our costumes and dance-routines.
"Great support act... in the form of the crazy but wonderful Mustang Hobo. Lead singer complete with duck outfit and homegrown tunes about life and superheroes." Indie Limerick
We will be hitting the studio in 2012 but are available for bookings. Ideal for festivals, pub gigs, weddings, bar mitzvahs, stadiums and kids’ parties.
