Pariah

Metal // Glenageary, Dublin

Pariah began way back in early 2009,when Guitarists Edward Brophy and Rory Kavanagh, formerly of Dublin metallers Tooth And Nail and Dead Sea Magic respectively began to put into motion plans for a band combining the doomy, riffheavy of bands such as Kyuss,Down, Black Sabbbath High On Fire and Mastodon with their own inimitable melodic, soulful yet hard hitting twin guitar attack. The pair first drafted in drummer Nick Hall , whose tom heavy, manically energetic style both offset and complimented Kavanagh and Brophy's tuneful, economic riffing.Next in was vocalist Stephen O' Connor ,formerly of Redrum and Rory's bandmate in Dead Sea Magic, and his savage schizophrenic vocals, not a million miles away from Layne Staley or Phil Anselmo , rounded out the collectives soulful , groove led sound. After a brief stint on bass by James Dunne(now of Distributor , and formerly the band's singer) ,Fionan"Cinnamon" O'Sullivan , a schoolmate Of Ed and Rory , was brought in on bass , and brought to the band a raw, edgy bass sound that perfectly complimented their downtuned riffing style. With all the components in place, the young quintet(O' Connor is oldest at 21), made their live debut in Whelan's in December 2009,and have since stormed a number of venues with their ferocious and energetic live show.Keep em peeled folks , cos 2010's gonna be the year of the Pariah!!!!
