Paul McDonnell

Paul McDonnell is from Dublin, Ireland. Over the past 15 years he has been working as a professional musician all over the world. He performs approx 150 shows per annum.

In 2000 he was lead singer/guitarist with traditional legends, De Danann and performed to large audiences in Europe and America. His main objective over the past few years has been to establish himself as a respected live performer and a writer of real substance. He has had recent success winning the Christie Hennessey Song Competition in 2011 with his composition "Superman" (see video).

Several of his songs have been recorded by multi-platinum selling artists including Eddi Reader, (Fairground Attraction), De Danann, Tommy Fleming and Paul Byrom (Celtic Thunder) and others have been used on Canadian TV - Edgemont Road (Alliance Atlantis) and Cold Squad (CBS).

A Grammy nominated artist- Ruby Amanfu co wrote " Home To Me" with Paul. Ruby is currently singing with Jack White( The White Stripes) .

Recent projects include commissioning to co-write a track for a TV add campaign for a major shopping centre in Northern Ireland and co-writing a track for the Titanic 100 Concert Celebrations in Cobh, sung by Cathy Jordan, which will be broadcast across America in April.

These projects have been undertaken with multi-instrumentalist/
producer/writer Dave Molloy in his studios (Cellar Club Studios) in Forkhill, Co Down.

Paul and Dave co-write and produce songs to the highest quality and also work with great Irish talent - Della Mannion, Emily Shields, Jani McDermott, Ann Bryony, Leah McFall, Sean Needham, Glen Baker, Sasha Tandon etc.
