Simon Bird

Simon Bird is an experimental sound designer and electronic music producer.

Over the past 15 years he has independently released several albums and EPs - most notably his 2011 EP V (Nialler9's best Irish EP of 2011), his debut album Sport (released in 2012 and featured on The Needle Drop), the album and silent film score HÄXAN (2016) with his band EARTHSLAYER, Distance From The Event an original soundtrack to the theatre production of the same name by Collapsing Horse, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (2014) with DRUGSCHOOL64, and most recently his 2024 EP STAG comprised of early material reimagined from the ground up, using only the Elektron Syntakt synthesiser / drum computer.

Additionally Simon has performed live extensively, including as the support act for a diverse range of artists including Die Antwoord, DEATH GRIPS, Chelsea Wolfe, Holly Herndon, ASIWYFA, Ulrich Schnauss, Tera Melos, Kuedo, Demdike Stare, Liturgy, Pete Swanson, Vatican Shadow, James Ferraro & No Spill Blood.
