TALULAH DOES THE HULA

POP
DUBLIN, COUNTY DUBLIN

Four girls and one boy with a shared love of wickedly clever tunes that channel the combined beauty of fifty years of pop music. Talulah Does The Hula proudly wear their influences on their fashionable sleeves, yet together create something altogether very different.

The music emotes a love of sunshine, outdoor drinking, sex, four-part harmonies, the tropics and all things bright and bold.

Made up of ex-members of The Chalets and Neosupervital -Lauren, Jessie, Ceeva, Paula and Mike- TDTH are inspired by a love of lush harmonies and pop bops from the Shangri-La’s to The Cars, and have gotten into the quirky habit of swapping both instruments & vocals.

Now with two single releases under their belt the band have been enjoying constant radio play throughout Ireland and was chosen as Road Records' "Single of the Week" and Hot Press' "Pick of the Fortnight."

Despite being such a new band, they have already had the opportunity to gig in numerous venues across Ireland & The North as well as playing alongside the likes of The Cribs, Adam Green, The Oxford Collapse & Chairlift. Their handful of single tracks are all currently enjoying radio play in Ireland & The UK.

"They are the complete pop package" - BBC Northern Ireland October 2009

"Ireland has a new perfect pop band to fall in love with" - Hot Press Magazine, March 2009

"One of our favourite new bands of the year" - State Magazine, March 2009

"Sugar-sweet harmonies which soar up, up and away? Check. Swinging, gum-chewing, swaggering suaveness to knock your pop socks off? Check. Sunny-side-up melodies ripped, recycled and respun from beneath the armpits of giants such as The Shangri Las and The Ramones? That would be a darn tooting large check too." - Jim Carroll, The Irish Times, August 2009

"It's such a shame that John Hughes passed on recently, as we've just located his new favourite band. Feck dance - let's art!" - Derek O'Connor, Image Magazine, October 2009

"Their love of dolly girl groups is clear and always present in performances but as accomplished musicians, their songs comprise a lot more than just ladybits." - Naomi McArdle, Harmless Noise, May 2010

"Superb slices of guitar driven indie pop with a hint of that classic sixties motown girlgroup sound and a wee bit of early blondie" - Road Records, June 2009
