The Carty Sisters
New Ross, County Wexford
The Carty Sisters, Saoirse, Naoise and Ciara, are musicians, song writers and vocalist, from Wexford that share a passion for composing and creating their own music. The girls released their debut EP “COGAR” in October 2015; it was produced and mentored under the watchful eye of KÍLA front man, Rónán Ó Snódaigh, in Cong, Co. Mayo
“It’s always nice to work with gifted musicians but these girls are gifted and have a zest for the music.
In short, They Rock!” (Rónán Ó Snódaigh , KÍLA)
Not known for taking it easy, the girls recently headlined their own gig in Wexford Arts delighting audiences with their beautifully haunting ballad “ISLAND” (commemorative 1916 song),which gained 3rd place in the all-Ireland GAA SCÓR COMPITION, their instrumental “REFLECTIONS” and contemporary sweet song “STARS”. Being passionate about the Irish language, the girls are also currently recording three Irish Songs “GEALLAIM” “TÚS LE TROID” and “AG FÁS”, with “AG FÁS” being shortlisted and recently performed in the National Pan Celtic Song Contest 2016
In addition to enthralling TV audiences on TG4 and open mic sessions in the Quay Side Wexford the sisters’ skilled musicianship has led to them re-appearing at such prestigious events as the Kilkenny and Templebar Tradfests 2015 & 2016, and upcoming gig in the Watergate Kilkenny, and Follow Me Up to Carlow.
They were also invited to share stages in a special guest capacity with some illustrious Irish performers including KÍLA, Sharon Shannon, Seán Keane, Louise Morrissey, and Johnny Moynihan as well as international soloists such as Nashville singer-songwriters Charlie Roth and Melissa Greener
With a distinctive edge the girls are paving a formidable path for themselves on the national music scene and it is surely just a matter of time before they get the major breakthrough their inherent talent fully deserves. Hearing the Carty Sisters live it’s incredible to think they’ve only been performing in public for two years;
“Their inherent talent continues to astound people who witness them perform”
(Brendan Keane, New Ross Echo)
