The Impressionists

Hip Hop // Cork, Cork

The Impressionists are a funky 5 piece band from Ireland. Formed in 2005, the band's line up has changed dramatically numerous times but for the last year and a half has remained like this :

Cian - The Beats
Deny - The Bottom
Cliff - The Rhymes
Justin - The Scratches
Eoin - The Strings & The Horn

The Impressionists focus on creating a blend of fresh funk, rock and jazz mixed with true hip-hop using live instruments..........

In August 2008, the band recorded their 1st EP, "Back to Basics", over 10 days in the prestigious Grouse Lodge Studios. The Impressionists then kicked off their monthly residency at The Pavilion in September 2008. They launched the 4 track EP at The Pavilion in July 2009 and the show was a huge success.

Among the other venues the band have played are The Cork Opera House, The Savoy(Cork), The Half Moon(Cork), Vicar Street (Dublin), Radio City (Dublin) The Button Factory (Dublin), The Tripod (Dublin), The Black Box (Galway) and The National Conference Centre (Johannesburg, South Africa).

The Impressionists also performed at the Oxegen music festival in 2006 on the Red Bull Break In Stage.

Among the acts the band have opened for are the legendary Sweet Charles Sherell (musical director for James Brown) and Push, and The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.
