The Tightrope Walkers
Dublin, County Dublin
With a sound propelled by an incendiary energy and stellar songwriting crowned by three-part harmonies married to an undeniable pop sensibility, The Tightrope Walkers is a band like no other.
Consisting of Martin Moran (Guitars), Keeley Moss (Lead Vocals & Guitars), Elton Mullally (Bass, Percussion & Backing Vocals) & Paul Shanahan (Drums & Backing Vocals), their first release, the "protest single" Fat Men Have To Eat was recorded with Ingmar Kiang (Suede, Julian Cope) and released by legendary indie label Reekus Records. Named as one of the highlights of the Ones To Watch festival and chosen for both the Youbloom and Galway Fringe festivals, they've also generated rapturous responses at Dublin's prestigious Nighthawks, Ruby Sessions and Abner Browns events. Currently working on their debut album with producer/mixer Ger McDonnell (U2, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers) at The Mill studios (Kodaline), the band's unique fusion of Art-Rock, Power-Pop, Post-Punk, Shoegaze, Chillwave and dreamy Alt.Country balladry packs a pop-tastic punch with an eclectic effervescence.
"With a sound and a style drawn from rock ‘n’ roll history’s greatest traditions... a joyous mix sounding something like XTC and The Police going toe to toe with Real Estate and Blur – with echoes of Gram Parsons, Steely Dan and the Super Furry Animals"
- SUNDAY WORLD
"With her appearance at Ones To Watch both Moss and her band, The Tightrope Walkers, delivered the perfect festival set"
- THE JOURNALIST.IE
"A thoughtful, intelligent writer of psychedelic pop, she’s a lithe performer of real potential...A voice to listen out for in the future"
- HOT PRESS
"Every so often an artist emerges whose music draws so many influences and spans so many genres that they defy classification. This often leads critics into a game of musical pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. Just close your eyes, throw out your reference and hope it hits the right spot...The Tightrope Walkers are exactly this kind of act"
