tryFi

Folk // Naas/ Johnstown, Kildare

tryFi's journey began back in July 2010, when Brian (Biddy) Dooley first made music with Simon Kenny by a bonfire in a secluded forest in north Kildare. Both had a very similar ear and taste for a particular type of music. This inspired them to go out and create a band, one that would bring their own original ideas to life.
Biddy suggested recruiting a very young Kev O' Neill on bass guitar, whose talent was way ahead of his time. Next to be called upon was David Ganter, who had previously worked on other projects with Biddy, making quite an impression with his ability as a percussionist.

The four continued to develop and perfect their own brand of original music in the year that followed, after clicking immediately in their first session together. Each of them soon felt the need for another instrument that would give their music a bigger punch. Piano was the obvious choice, however the the first two former keys players could not commit fully, due to other engagements. tryFi were fortunate the third time round when they asked local gem Amy O' Kelly to get on board. She was more than willing to join the group, immediately bringing the devotion and creativity that the band needed to move forward.

Since Amy's arrival, tryFi have gone on to win their first competition coveting a supporting slot with Irish pop trio The Kanyu Tree. The group's music has matured greatly and they are now ready to bring themselves and their songs to the stage. tryFi now to hope to increase their fan base and to push their music as far as it can go. With your support, they hope to achieve this!
