Athenry, County Galway
Whifflefit are a young aspiring, Hard Rock quartet from rural Galway.
The Band have been gigging and recording around Galway City and Dublin for a number of years.
an article in Hotpress, 2012, read:
'and then theres Whifflefit, teenage alt-rockers, with nothing to lose, inspired by the likes of Led Zeppellin and Queens of the Stoneage, this up-tempo combo are wise beyond their years and bring an old-school authenticity to their performances'
and the group have lived up to this statement in well respected venues such as Monroes, 'The Roisín Dubh, The Black Box Theater and The Pint Bar (Dublin).
The Band have recorded numerous times in Lakeland Studios, Athlone ,recording live sessions featuring original material in which a loose, heavy and old school rock n' roll sound has been fused with up-tempo heavy pop and a knowledge of musical theory. With the oldest member being only 19 years of age, the strat-sporting group plan to break from their rural Irish roots and move to the heart of Dublin City in August 2013, after a summer of gigging and recording around the country. The Band are hard working with high standards and aspirations and hope to receive management and sponsorship in the near future, branching off to the U.K., Mainland Europe and eventually the U.S.
