Strongly inspired by the contemporary Irish folk/trad revival, A Clatter and Drone also draws muse from psychedelic rock and electronica.
The group’s music and lyrical content is heavily influenced by psychology and philosophy, touching on predominant themes of the human condition.

A Clatter and Drone’s debut album, Empty Buggy, is set for release this summer. Drawing on folk and trad traditions, laced with elements of psychedelic rock, electronics, hard rock, and metal, the album weaves a rich, unpredictable sonic landscape. Featuring standout collaborators from Dublin’s vibrant music scene—including Sinead Lynch of Landless and Lizzy Fitzpatrick of Bitch Falcon—Empty Buggy dives deep into themes of housing precarity, modern isolation, and personal defragmentation. It’s a raw, urgent record—haunting, heavy, and full of real weight.
Stephen Troussé, Uncut Magazine: “Exhilarating psychedelic reel, recalling Fairport’s wilder odysseys, from Phibsborough, Dublin folk-rock adventurer.”
Ian Lynch, Fire Draw Near, Lankum: “…play this track in honor of the Goddess Bridget.”
Hot Press: “There’s something awesomely raw about it, as if it’s been around since the beginning of time but has just come into the light.
