Affection to Rent

Grunge // Dublin, Dublin // She/Her (Abbey)

A year old, five-piece Affection to Rent’s unique brand of grunge fuses dark winding vocal melodies with a warm wash of nostalgia. Between moments of thick and heavy execution to ethereal and personal numbers, their live sets are a cathartic experience with a contagious desperation that is "reminiscent of the very best Seattle grunge bands of yesteryear." (The Goo Magazine, Dublin). Raw and honest delivery is backed by a familiar foundation of influence from Echo and the Bunnymen, Foo Fighters, PJ Harvey, Kings of Leon, and Smashing Pumpkins. Recently the band were longlisted for the Glastonbury emerging talent competition, described as 'a breath of fresh air' by Under the Radar Magazine.

Frontwoman and writer, Abbey Addenbroke-Sheriff, moved to Dublin where the band formed from her home near Bristol after the members of Fontaines D.C. hand-chose her for their scholarship “She’s brilliant – it’s exciting to hear such raw talent,” Carlos O’Connell, Guitarist of Fontaines D.C. for NME.
