AILSHA is an alternative metal artist from Co. Wicklow, Ireland, known for her playful fusion of heavy guitar riffs, double-kick drums, and shimmering Y2K-inspired synths. With a background in video game composition, the pink-haired singer (and screamer) crafts high-energy tracks packed with attitude, personality, and an undeniable sense of fun. Effortlessly switching between sugary-sweet vocals and fierce, chilling screams, AILSHA has carved out a signature sound that is both dynamic and unapologetic.
2024 saw AILSHA rise to international recognition. She was the runner-up to Bambie Thug in Ireland’s Eurosong National Final for Eurovision 2024 with her breakout hit "Go Tobann", which received Future Flavour from Nels Hylton at BBC Radio 1 on Future Alternative, was featured in major Spotify editorial playlists (Viral 50 Ireland, Misfits 2.0, The Pit), and reached #1 on the Irish iTunes Charts while topping Eurovision fan polls worldwide. Her latest single, "Call In A Minute", further cemented her place in the scene, earning spots on Spotify's New Music Friday UK and Alternative Ireland editorial playlists, as well as Amazon Music's Breakthrough Rock playlist. The track was named Track of the Week on BBC Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe and hit #1 on the Irish iTunes Metal Charts.
Following a landmark year supporting Punk Rock Factory and WARGASM (UK) on their Irish tour dates, AILSHA embarked on her debut mini-tour across Ireland and the UK, with shows in Dublin, Brighton, Galway, Derry, Drogheda, and Portlaoise. She headlined Saint Luke’s Church at the Alldayer Festival in Glasgow, performed at Letterkenny Pride, and played Upgrade at The Old Blue Last in London.
Beyond her success as an artist, AILSHA has also made waves in the alternative music scene as a radio presenter on RTÉ2XM, where she hosts AMPLIFY, a show dedicated to spotlighting boundary-pushing Irish and international artists in heavier music genres.
