Irish princess of misfits AILSHA sings about the things in life we should all laugh rather than cry about. Former makeup artist turned video games composer, the Wicklow native recently made her festival debuts at Indiependence Festival, Electric Picnic and Whelan's Ones to Watch. She has been voted as one of Ireland's 'most ground-breaking female artists' and 'most promising artists' in the Hot Press Hottie Awards for the second year in a row and has been shortlisted again for 2023 under both categories. She currently has 22k+ monthly listeners on Spotify.
AILSHA spent her childhood learning to compose and taught herself to produce at an early age. She spent the end of 2022 locked away in her bedroom studio learning how to write and produce the rock style of music she always wanted to create. She kick-started 2023 with her heaviest track to date, 'Sucker', which was well received and landed key Spotify editorial playlists including Misfits 2.0, Fresh Finds Rock and The Locker and was playlisted worldwide on Amazon Music. The track also received its BBC Radio 1 debut on Nels Hylton’s Future Alternative. Her follow-up, ‘Red Flags’, beguiled the BBC and landed airplay on BBC Radio 1's BBC Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe and Future Alternative with Nels Hylton as well as airplay on BBC Across The Line with Gemma Bradley. Both releases were #1 in the Irish iTunes Rock Charts.
AILSHA's Summer Tour will commence in June with a number of tour dates around Ireland and the UK as well as appearances at profile festivals over the course of the summer.
AILSHA is the official composer for Big Brother: The Game.
