AILSHA is an Irish composer, singer-songwriter and producer from Co. Wicklow, Ireland. She has been listed as "Hot for 2021" and as one of the country's "Most Promising Acts" by Hot Press Magazine. She comes from a prolific musical family (her father, Shaun Davey (The Brendan Voyage), mother, Rita Connolly (Granuaile), and sister, Cathy Davey (The Nameless)).
Growing up, AILSHA's childhood was enchanted by fairytales and video games. By the age of eleven she was writing, arranging and producing her own compositions using her father's software and equipment. In her teenage years she began to write songs about her life and established her rhapsodic, wry style- accompanied by music inspired by her fairytale and video game influences. AILSHA's bubblegum indie-pop sound today has drawn comparisons to the likes of MARINA and Lily Allen.
Recent shows of note include Hot Press Magazine's Y&E Series, a sold-out headline show by Ex-Oh Promotions in The Workman's Club, Transmission Live and Fluttertone's International Womens Day Livestream.
Her first single release of 2021, 'FBOY', was #1 in the Irish iTunes Charts and received praise across national radio as well as international blogs and shows, including being the 'most requested song' on Fergal D'Arcy's 'All Irish' show on Today FM. The single was released off the back of her previous single, 'Ghosted', being shortlisted for 'Track of the Year' by Hot Press Magazine.
