Ain't Saint John is the jug from which John Mac Naeidhe pours out his angular, hypnotic folk songs onto the world. His words fall somewhere between the piano, the present moment and the absurd. Double Bass, Strings, Electric Guitar and female voices provide an ethereal backdrop. All to deliver a message of encouragement to all the humans out there, existing.
His debut The Grow Yourself EP (2014) is described as "a nice blend of americana and folk music with glimpses of Elliot Smith and Bill Callahan"(John Barker, 98FM).
Now living in Dublin, John grew up near the South Coast of Wexford. It's rich history and beautiful landscape have had a strong influence on John's songwriting. His forthcoming single Yola, accompanied by an animated video, will be released in April 2019.
