Alan Daniel Tobin // ADT

Folk // Carrigaline, Cork

ADT (Alan Daniel Tobin) is a member of Irish band LOWmountain and honorary member of the legendary Interference. His two solo albums - Volume I & II - were recorded remotely in his garden cabin, and produced by multi-instrumentalist, Justin Grounds , from a little room overlooking the beautiful town of Clonakilty, West Cork.

Lives in Carrigaline with his wife, Catherine, and three daughters, Ada Rose, Evie May and Eliza Jean. He also works as a graphic designer, amateur film-maker and photographer.

ADT flexes between the sadness and delight of everyday life. He paints the darkness with atmospheric soundscapes and simple words. Hugely influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, the West Cork landscape and his family, he has a minor obsession with lighthouses.

The Little Lighthouse Tour
Alan continues ‘The Little Lighthouse Tour’ with shows at Loop Head and Blacksod. Following on from 2023’s tour that included West Rathlin Island, The Great Light Belfast, Valentia Island, Loop Head, Ballycotton and The Fastnet Rock.

His mission is to raise awareness of the importance of lighthouses in Irish folklore and landscape, as well as to absorb the spirit of the area for future soundscapes and inspiration.

Alan is The Great Lighthouses of Ireland’s unofficial Commissioner for Light Entertainment

Having grown up in the shadow of The Galley Head Lighthouse, ADT holds these amazing structures very close to his heart and songs.

His tour also includes raising awareness and funds for the RNLI.

2025
January of this year (2025), Alan was selected to showcase at Ireland’s Premium Folk Conference, Your Roots Are Showing, in Killarney. In February, he toured with Kris Mizzi (Australia’s Folk Artist of the Year) and Seren Spain (UK/AUS).
