Anenome

Folk // dublin, Dublin // she/her

Introducing Anenome, Dublin based two piece expanding the boundaries of folk/rock music. Clara Webster and Lily Brodie Hayes use rich drone-based arrangements and layered vocals to evoke powerful emotions in their music, connecting people to each other on the basis of an honest shared human experience. Drawing from influences such as PJ Harvey, Lankum, SWANS, Katie Kim and Keeley Forsyth, they reach beyond what we have already heard and make something new.

Anenome’s music is proudly mixed by the great Cian P. Nolan (Lifts) and mastered by Harvey Birrell (Lankum). Seeing the release of their two singles ‘Dregs’ and ‘Fascinate Me’ from EP Human Remains earlier this year, they have seen radio play on shows such as Where’s Me Jumper Dermot on Louder than War radio, Get in Her Ears on Soho Radio, Mystery Train on RTE Lyric and John Barker’s Tilt. In July they released a Live Album, self-recorded at their performance in The Hut. Anenome have made a name for themselves playing with acts like Thee U.F.O, The Daisy Chain, Mantua and One Leg One Eye, playing venues across Dublin, Drogheda and Limerick including a sold out headline show in Little Whelans, Feile na Greine festival and two sold out shows in Project Arts Centre supporting One Eye One Leg with Foggy Notions.

Anenome released their debut EP Human Remains on the 20th of September 2024. These songs describe a process of transformation and growth, struggling with mental health difficulties and seeking out the pathways to self-improvement. Throughout Human Remains, Anenome express a refusal to accept the discrimination and mistreatment experienced by women everywhere and describe the pain this discrimination causes.
