Aoife

A vivacious artist, known for blending Irish traditional vocal influences with pop elements. After a decade long career as a contemporary dancer and choreographer, in Autumn 2022 Aoife launches her solo career as a musician with her debut album Pink Breath.

Aoife got her start in music from NYC’s beloved, Justin Vivian Bond. Justin invited Aoife to sing her song ‘Space’ played by much loved Irish musician Michael Gallen. The Irish Times later wrote ‘ Choreographer Aoife McAtamney provided one of the highlights of the evening'. Aoife was later invited to sing ‘Space’ at a Repeal the 8th rally hosted by journalist Una Mullally.

Aoife has been doing a French tour with Award winning choreographer Oona Doherty (Silver Lion Award Venice Biennale) as a vocalist singing the work of Abbey Lincoln and Max Roach Pray/Protest/Peace.

Aoife has been called a truth teller, the taboo whisper by audiences who are both sobbing and belly laughing all the way through live performances. She has the balance of communicating utter joy and devastating pain through her lyrics, melody and performance. She will release her first single ‘Simple Love’ on the 28th of September 2022.
