Apollo Monroe is an alternative pop artist from Dublin, Ireland. A pop-culture stan since a child, his world was changed when he first glimpsed the music video of Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For? in '04. He started writing songs in his early teens, however didn't perform or record any of his original material until he was in University, where he studied commercial modern music.
His venture into the realm of experimental pop stems from when he first heard Charli XCX's Vroom Vroom EP. Absolutely enthralled by SOPHIE's production, having never heard anything like it, it opened his world to experimental electropop and PC Music. In 2019, the creation of the Hyperpop Spotify playlist enabled him with the ability to easily find new, exciting pop music that he aspired to be a part of.
Monroe's main musical influences consist of Charli XCX, 100 Gecs, Dorian Electra, SOPHIE, and A.G. Cook.
