Hi,
My name is Ashley Tubridy I was born on the 21st of August 2002, so I am currently 12 years of age and I am a singer/songwriter and guitarist from Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
In 2011 at the age of eight I became the youngest member of IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation).
I picked up the guitar at about five years of age and would sit in my room and create music despite having no-one else in the house-hold being able to sing a note between them!!
I performed an original song that I had written myself called ‘Friends Forever’ on The Late Late Toy Show in December 2011 and have been invited back on The Late Late Show three more times since.
‘Friends Forever’ went to Number 2 in the iTunes Irish download charts and without any physical CDs available, still managed to chart at Number 35 in the official Irish Charts.
Another one of my songs called ‘Dried Up Heart’ that was on an EP ‘From the Outside In’ also charted in the Official Irish charts at number 29 and are both available on iTunes! ;)
I was also one of a number of other musicians that was involved in releasing a charity single that was a cover of Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’. This reached number 1 in the official Irish charts narrowly missing out as Christmas number 1 for 2012
I have gained a lot of varied experiences through performing at festivals, music shows, radio, TV and different charity events throughout Ireland and the U.K. as well as spending time in recording studios.
I have steadily built up a fan-base and I now have over 2200 likes on my Facebook fan page and in excess of 180,000 views and over 1300 subscribers on my YouTube channel.
In November 2013 I performed in the 3Arena in Dublin, to a 10,000 strong audience alongside Little Mix, Boyzone, Union J, The Wanted, Shane Filan, B*Witched and Conor Maynard for the Cheerio’s Childline Concert and supported Wallis Bird on her Irish tour in The Academy, Dublin on the 25th of April 2014
Music festivals have a special place in my heart and have had so much fun performing at the Electric picnic for the past two years and the Lorient Interceltique Music festival in Brittany France, August last year (2014).
Although Radio DJing comes under a different area of music, leaning more towards media, I also embrace what it has to bring and Midlands Radio 103 have welcomed me as a member of one of their team. There I produce and host my own radio show called ‘Ashley’s Kickin’ Music Hour.’ This is something I have a lot of fun doing!
I also love to busk and you can see me now and then singing away on Shop Street, Galway and Grafton Street, Dublin!
Oh and guess what!..in 2012 when I was 10 I played on stage at Niall Horan’s (1D) 19th birthday party!! It really was a night to remember!
Currently I continue to write music and I have also just recorded a single called ‘Surviving Scandals’ this was written and produced by Bressie and engineered by Phil Hayes in Windmill Lane recording Studio’s in Dublin.
I have a YouTube channel, Sound cloud, a website and facebook page, please visit and if you would like to keep in touch or be part of our little community please post a comment! :)
Well that’s me!
Regards,
Ashley x
