Binmen have an energy and attitude that ranges from the catharsis of ‘Queens of the stone age’ to the theatrics and focused writing of ‘Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’. The five piece assembled with a hunger and willingness to perform and record, fueled by the inactivity of the Covid-19 pandemic and their shared residence in the Wicklow area. Its members have crossed paths musically on many occasions in the past, however Binmen is where each member has found their individual artistic strengths. Allowing each member to explore their own wide array of influences across genres and styles, all while maintaining an undeniable continuity both in influence and experimentation.
Since their formation in July of 2022, they've played 20+ gigs in a multitude of venues across Cork, Dublin, London, Wexford and Offaly. The band have released two singles 'Backammer and Tongs' and 'Death By The River' which were well received.
Indie Buddie - "Death by the River creeps in on haunting soundscapes, poetic lyrical content and compelling music."
With more singles on the way, and a debut EP out in June 2023, the band are an exciting prospect in Irish music scene.
