Blackthorn needs no introduction as one Irelands best known folk bands . Formed in Belfast 1968,it has been a staple on the Irish music scene at home and abroad . Blackthorn had taking two entries into the top 20 in the Irish charts with' Flower of Scotland and ' A childrens winter . Over the years the band has held successful residencies, the Elms 1987 - 1995, The Belfast Empire music hall, 1995 - 2000, Benedicts of Belfast 2001 to present. Blackthorn,s ability to adapt to any audience, has seen the band perform in the , USA, Bahrain , Germany , Belgium , Luxembourg. The band has also been linked to global brands such, Blackthorn cider, Seacat, and, Miller genuine draft, through sponsorship.
