Bowery Boy, an emerging rock band from Navan, Ireland, is gaining attention with their dynamic blend of alternative and indie rock. Formed in 2021 as Paul Clarke's solo project after years of co-writing in local bands, Clarke (vocals, rhythm guitar) teamed up with drummer Barry Fitzgerald. After a year of honing their sound, bassist Lenny Lane and lead guitarist Robbie Fitzgerald, Barry's brother, completed the lineup.
Bowery Boy's sound draws early comparisons to the likes of Jeff Buckley, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, and Paul Weller. Influenced by legends like The Beatles, Radiohead, Muse, and Bob Dylan, with a nod to Joni Mitchell’s alternative tunings and the intensity of Queens of the Stone Age, their music is a guitar-driven, emotionally charged experience that ranges from introspective to anthemic.
On Friday, 8th November 2024, Bowery Boy will release their debut single 'Fortified'. Recorded at Jam Studios in Kells before Lenny and Robbie joined, the track showcases an evolution in Clarke's songwriting, marked by a heavier sound and the contributions of acclaimed producer and multi-instrumentalist Martin Quinn.
