Boyfrens is the club-pop project of Dublin-based electronic artist Jack Hevey. Influenced by a wealth of acts from Suicide to Kelela and DJ Technics, he crafts songs with a keen focus on lyrics, texture and flow. With tracks meditating on themes of masculinity, intimacy and relationship dynamics, Boyfrens’ objective is to make you feel and move.

The project’s live show is geared for the dancefloor, shifting from low-slung 100bpm chuggers to baltimore club-inspired electropop cuts. His sets take the form of a hybrid-DJ setup, mixing live vocals, guitar, electronics and analogue synths with distorted breaks and loads of heart.

Boyfrens has released 3 EPs, a rake of singles and remixes, a couple of live performance videos, and put out his debut album on April 24th. He’s performed at Féile na Gréine, Open Ear and Electric Picnic, and has played headline gigs across Ireland and abroad.
