Breaking Sputnik

Breaking Sputnik is a fresh project by Aleksei (Alex) Tanana, a St. Petersburg-born musician who moved to Ireland in 2022. With a background in creating multiple music projects in Russia, Alex is now pushing boundaries with something entirely new.

Drawing inspiration from his infinite travels along the rugged west coast of Ireland, his music blends a mix of genres and influences, but can broadly be described as art punk. He fuses the raw energy of electric guitar noise with an intense curiosity for electronic music, incorporating synthesizers, drum machines, and unpolished, edgy vocal lines.

With a growing collection of songs, Breaking Sputnik is set to release a series of singles throughout 2025, bringing a bold, genre-blurring vision to the Irish alternative scene.
