Bullpen

Indie // Dublin, Dublin

Dublin indie rock duo Bullpen first entered the Irish scene at 15 as The Malefactors, playing music in frontwoman Lucille's garden shed after school. During this time, they played in venues across the city, including a sold-out headliner at the Grand Social, and the inaugural Based Festival at a sold-out Button Factory. They have also shared the stage with bands like Florence Road and Last Apollo, and named as one of the Hot Press Hot for 2024 Irish Acts.

In July 2024, they rebranded as Bullpen, releasing their first single and music video. Lucille O'Mahony and drummer Wren Colville are accompanied onstage by Michèal Carney of Taiyo and Zalán Kovács of Pending. To celebrate the rebrand, they played in the Workman's Main Room on Culture Night 2024.

Their music is influenced by rock artists like Jeff Buckley and folk artists like Adrianne Lenker, creating a signature blend of indie rock. Hot Press described their 2023 single Missing Molly as "the missing link between Sinéad O'Connor and The Cranberries". As sixth year students, they are currently operating on partial hiatus but their next release is highly anticipated.
