Canizares, are a Belfast-based 3 piece outfit, with a talent for tuneful, yet punishing, rock/punk/ska.
Front man and guitarist, Neil Lavery tells the Canizares story with a loose trash rock approach, combining an edgy, piercing guitar and vocal combination, with an uncanny ability to hold notes until the last drop of melody is squeezed from them.
Neil is supported by a solid backline rythm section supplied by drummer, Matt O'Donnell's ear punishing percussion and the band's newest member, Innis Mennie's punchy and driving basslines.
Alternative, loose, trash and gutter rock that’s hard to pin down, Canizares can easily shift from Foo-fighter'esque rock songs to balls-out hardcore punk, with a touch of Ska and even gentle melody thrown in for good measure!
Following on from their recent debut album release, "Is this my stop?", the band is currently working on a selection of new material for the second and as yet un-named album under their own label, Stone Age Records. Canizares has received some well-deserved praise from local press and independant entertainment sites, some of which is below.
