Cerebella

Pop // Killarney, Kerry // she/her

Cerebella is an artist, singer and songwriter from the southwest of Ireland and living in London.

Raised in a family of Irish traditional musicians, she spent her childhood singing Irish traditional music as well as in every conceivable church choir, local ballad group and pub within a ten-mile radius. Around the age of twelve, she watched an X Factor episode titled 'Motown Week' and had an earth-shattering realisation that soul music existed and she wanted to sing little else for the rest of her life.

After building this foundation as a singer, she began writing her own music and unceremoniously quit a series of jobs before deciding to pursue music full-time. Since then, she has released her debut single in 2023 and her debut album, Self Harm Sex, in 2024 to great acclaim. The lead single, Barbie Baby, has racked up over 5,000 streams and came with a steamy music video directed and edited by Cerebella herself which is currently sitting at 1.3k views on YouTube.

The same year, she was one of HotPress' four shortlisted acts in their Irish Music Month: A New Local Hero competition from Radio Kerry. Cerebella's sound draws from a variety of inspirations, ranging from country to soul to gospel to indie pop, culminating in a sound that she describes briefly as ‘pop with a 60’s twist.’
