Clara Byrne is a socialist singer songwriter from Bray. She finds her lyrical inspiration in the world around her and seeks solitude from that world in the music she creates.
Clara has been fortunate enough to support a wealth of Irish talent including Wallis Bird, Mick Pyro (Republic Of Loose), Cathy Davey and Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy).
To date she has released three singles from her upcoming debut album titled “Handstitched”. The singles have been met with a warm reception that have included airplay on RTE Radio 1 and 98fm.
UK reviewer Get In Her Ears described the single “Conflict Bound” as “a poignant reflection of the pressures and contradictions we encounter living under capitalism… (with) sincere lyrics and rich vocals”, while Indie Buddie declared her “a proficient up and coming songwriter”.
A song writing graduate of BIMM Dublin, Clara has played all around Ireland and gigged extensively while living abroad in Berlin and San Francisco.
Her debut album "Handstitched" features talented musicians from Irish bands like Thumper, Enemies and Chief Keegan. The album was finished remotely during the first lockdown and was waiting for the right time to be released. Thanks to a successful Fundit campaign, Clara released her album July 2022 to a warm reception.
