Conn Thornton's self-released 2024 album 'Meteorite Season' explores every facet of their development as an artist - an upbringing in classical piano, alternative folk balladry and experimental ambient composition blend together to create a broad and cohesive record that received acclaim from Irish music journals and was longlisted for Best Album at the NI Music Prize. As a self-taught producer, their work merges composition and sound design with lyrics musing on queerness, art as escape and literature to create unique sound worlds within the borders of their songs. Conn's repertoire spans experimental film, animation, game and audiovisual installation. They have previously performed support slots for acts such as Problem Patterns, Gender Chores, Daudi Matsiko and Courting.
"The music is emotive, complex, and a testament to Thornton's talents as a composer" - Eleanor Gilmore, Dig With It
