Emerging from the heart of North Dublin with a sound that’s as haunting as it is electrifying, Curfew are a 3-piece dark, hard alternative rock band destined to etch their name into modern Irish rock’s most raw and compelling live bands with a sonic footprint that is truly their own. Since fully forming in 2024, Curfew has already gained a reputation for their electrifying live shows across many distinguished Dublin venues such as Whelans, Bello Bar, The Grand Social, Anseo, The Workman’s Club and The Sound House. In November, Curfew dropped their debut single ‘Lucid Mind’, which turned the heads of prominent media bodies such as Hot Press, Golden Plec, First Music Contact, Blowtorch Records and IMRO, who all featured the single across their platforms.
‘Go Slow’ their forthcoming second release received increased critical acclaim with more playlisting, Spotify traction (500+ monthly listeners), radio time and write ups. ‘Go Slow’ features biting intense guitar riffs, propelling drum grooves, and haunting, cathartic vocals from front-woman Jj, who effortlessly switches from delicate whispers to intense, full-throated power. The song takes influence from stoner rock artists as well as featuring an undercurrent of electronica dance with cinematic organ synths within a delayed guitar soaked soundscape. Through simultaneously blending heavy riffs with eerie atmospheres and a fierce, unapologetic intensity, ‘Go Slow’ builds a sonic landscape that is unsettling, captivating and hypnotically explosive. To celebrate the release of ‘Go Slow’, Curfew headlined a packed out Workman’s Cellar in March 2025 with support on the night from Dublin alt-rockers Dominda.
What’s next? Curfew release their next single ‘Clones’ this forthcoming May to complement upcoming gigs in Toale’s of Dundalk and a headliner in Fred Zeppelins of Cork. Curfew are also in the process of recording their debut 6 track EP which will be available on all platforms by this September.
Curfew are Jj Smilez (vocals), Gavin Dunne (guitar) and Mick Caffrey (drums).
Curfew are available for gigs / festivals / showcases throughout 2025 and can be contacted on curfewmusicire@gmail.com
