Dark Patterns

Dark Patterns is a Dublin based duo consisting of Donegal native Cara Ward and Baltimorean Neil Russell. The pair of songwriters teamed up at the start of the Pandemic lockdown in March 2020 and began creating music together respectively recording their ideas remotely and editing along the way. The DIY Duo found common ground and similar views to create an eccentric sound drawing from influences the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Bruce Springsteen, Manchester Orchestra, Tennis, and Beach House. The Duo meshes cultural inspirations from the Baltimore music scene of heavy haunting guitar riffs over droning synth, with heavy Irish musical traits and poetic imagery to create hypnotic melodies and dual harmonised vocals.

Dark Patterns has created a unique sound and takes the listener on a journey that starts at the beginning of the song on through twists of emotional experience that culminates in a raw mature sound.
