Deadbeat Drew (stylized as DEADBEAT DREW) is an alternative/electronic music project started in 2019. He began to make a name for himself in the live music scene in Dublin, playing in recognized venues such as DropDead Twice and The Grand Social, until the COVID-19 pandemic pushed him to move back to the West of Ireland in March 2020. He continued to release music throughout the pandemic, including the EP 'You Should Find', and saw his work receive glowing reviews from publications in Ireland and the UK such as The Thin Air, Indie Buddie and Sound Sniffer. In April 2022, his single 'Pick Up The Phone' led Hot Press to hail him as "one of the most promising and exciting alternative acts currently on the rise in Ireland". In May of that year, he collaborated with renowned UK producer and DJ, Shen, with him producing a remix to one of Deadbeat Drew's tracks 'You Should Find', on Drew's own label, Family Pop Records.
Despite being placed in an area between electronica and indie, Deadbeat Drew gathers influence from a large range of artists from FKA Twigs to The Beach Boys. The musician will look to continue 2022 by adding to his already strong catalogue of music, combining psychedelic dream pop with catchy electronic landscapes.
