Dea Matrona

Rock // Belfast, Down

Dea Matrona was formed in Belfast by school friends Mollie McGinn (21) and Orlaith Forsythe (20). Mollie’s little sister Mamie (17) was drafted in to play drums. The wave of support started through the band’s busking videos (‘Oh Well’ Fleetwood Mac cover in Dec 2020 now has over 2m views). They now have an online community of 200,000 followers and a total of over 5.7 million views on YouTube.

A performance on The RTÉ Late Late Show saw their track "Make You My Star" shoot to Number 1 on both the UK & Ireland iTunes Rock Charts. They were voted as "Most Promising Act" in the Hot Press 2021 Reader's Poll. The band embark on their Irish tour this December with shows including Whelans (Dublin), Dolans (Limerick) & 900 capacity Limelight 1 (Belfast) which was upgraded after selling out Limelight 2.
