Def Nettle is a bombastic Punk Funk outfit fronted by prolific musician Glen Brady. Combining uptempo Punk/Post-Punk rhythms & classic emo soundscapes with danceable beats & hard hitting tongue in cheek visions of contemporary life.
Influenced by classic Punk like Iggy Pop, their sound incorporates a modern approach reflective of influences like Idles, Fontaines DC & The Murder Capital.
Lead singler/producer, Brady has session musician credits with the likes of R.E.M. & was an engineer with the California State Symphony & has toured in support of The Cranberries, as a member of DARK with Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and the late Dolores O’Riordan as well as mixing their album, Science Agrees.

Def Nettle released their debut album DN001 in February 2024. The album was reviewed extensively in The Irish Times, Hot Press & various other print and web publications. It includes the singles ‘Architecture’ which spent 8 weeks at #2 on German Independent Dance chart as well as ‘Four Years’ & ‘Boat Race’ which both made it into the Top 10 of the same chart for several weeks. The single ‘War Machine’ featuring Andy Rourke of The Smiths on Bass guitar received extensive plays on radio around Ireland and UK. They have had considerable press coverage in The Sunday Independent, The Sunday Business Post, Hot Press, The Golden Plec as well as being featured on many UK based Indie blogs like Rough UK,Flex Magazine & more.

4 x singles have featured as Track of the week on 2Fm's The Alternative & 2XM's Kate Brennan Harding & 2XM's The London Ear & have featured numerous times on Jenny Greene's 2FM show.
They have recently performed at Studio 8 in 2FM & the performance was broadcast in March 2024.
They performed on 2 episodes of Virgin Media One’s Fanning Live @ Whelan’s & have recently done live recordings for RTE 2XM’s Sessions form Oblivion. The Irish Times recently included Def Nettle in the 20 ‘Bands to Watch’ in 2023.
