"If you’re looking for an act that understands the co-relation between classic pop and cutting-edge indie, you’ve come to the right place."
-Jim Caroll, Irish Times
Galway-based fourpiece Disconnect 4 will this June be releasing their very first EP entitled ‘Modern Love’. After just 2 years together building a solid reputation as one of the brightest upcoming bands in Ireland, we are delighted to announce the EP and an accompanying Irish tour with dates in Galway, Dublin, Sligo and Cork.
After gigging heavily throughout 2008/09 Disconnect4 know how to put on a good live show, which is why they have garnered attention from some of the biggest names in the industry such as Alison Curtis of Today FM (“It’s fantastic, really love it”) and Steve Lemacq of BBC Radio1. Described by Hotpress as “A Foalesque indie band who combine strong vocals and catchy riffs”, their synth-based indie-pop tunes are regularly played on major UK & Ireland radio stations, and online music network CMU even listed them as Band of the Month in November 2008.
Over the past few months they have been busy recording a live 2FM session with Dan Hegarty (“The new material is really good”), a session with Muzu.tv, another with BBC Northern Ireland, and an appearance on TG4. More recently they were among only six bands to be chosen from over 900 entries to play the Best of IMRO showcase in the Village on 2nd May this year.
The Modern Love EP sees Martin Dubka (Cazals/Kitsuné) step into the helm of the goodship Disconnect to bring us tracks ‘Disco Never Changes’, ‘Ghosts Before Dawn’, ‘Modern Love’, and ’Eighteen’.
