Drop The Shadow

Drop The Shadow is the music project of Irish songwriter & musician Mike Walsh.
Joined both in studio & live by his brother Eric (drums), Sean Carey (bass) & other musician friends; DTS returns with fresh ideas & an E.P release on the horizon for the summer of 2023.

In 2022, experimenting with new sonic elements, DTS finished recording new tracks in Black Mountain Studios. The past two years were also used to make home recording/ producing a part of the workflow & story moving forward.

Latest singles 'Time' & 'Cross to Bear' were both playlisted by esteemed HotPress Magazine, whilst the music video for 'Time' also premiered on the site. Both also received generous airplay by Beat 102/103, iRadio, KCLR & WLR FM.

The project strongly values the music video experience, as seen in the aforementioned movement themed video for 'Time', written & directed by Mike. The inspiration for the video, featuring dancer Tobi Omoteso & aerial silks performer Rebecca Marsden, was sparked by a piece of art painted by his uncle Michael. This is also the official artwork for the track.
Sonic & production influences include Alex G, Wolf Alice, Alt J, Unknown Mortal Orchestra & Beach House.

The latest single 'Cross to Bear' is available now, and follow up single 'Flower' is due for release in May.
