Earth City Mob

Earth City Mob are a dynamic, edgy new outfit from Dublin, Ireland who fuse rock, trad and dance for a unique groove-based sound.
The band features three of the most seasoned performers on the festival circuit: drummer Lance Hogan (Kila, Dead Can Dance), bassist Brian Hogan (Kila, Preacher's Son), and flute virtuoso Alan Doherty (Lord of the Rings, Grada). Between them they have clocked up several million touring hours and know what an audience want - and how to deliver it.
ECM’s core sound defies easy classification. They are committed to opening up new musical frontiers and list Jethro Tull, Gorillaz, Massive Attack and Horslips as some of their influences. Unlike other instrumental rock/trad-fusion bands, ECM are vocal-heavy and perform their own songs and left-of-field covers. They are never predictable. Their first single, I am Stretched on Your Grave, is a head-spinning gallop through intricately-harmonised folk/ballad, trad and Indie dance.
Front man, Alan Doherty, is regarded as one of the greatest trad fluters playing anywhere today, and lists Matt Molloy and Christy Moore among his admirers. He intersperses his lead vocals with the mischievous and acrobatic fluting style that has electrified rock and trad audiences from Europe to New Zealand. He is, simply, extraordinary.
The glue that binds ECM is a love of rhythm. They play music that demands you get on your feet and move. There are no respectful silences at a ECM gig.

Bios:
Alan Doherty: vocals/flute. Toured the world with traditional outfits, Grada and Aldoc. Featured soloist on
Oscar-winning film, The Lord of the Rings.

Lance Hogan: drums/guitar/vocals. IFTA nominated film composer, music producer, multi instrumentalist
and film director. Twenty five years of touring the world with Dead Can Dance and Kila. Also collaborated on
the Oscar-nominated film, The Secret of Kells.

Brian Hogan: guitar/bass/vocals. Member of Kila for 20 years and frontman of rock band, Preachers Son. Ex-Disney and Murakami/Wolf animator (Duck Tales and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Also collaborated on the Oscar-nominated films, The Secret of Kells and The Star of the Sea.
