Eduardo Castillo is a songwriter, composer, arranger, and self-releasing artist and producer operating within the Latin genre.
Eduardo hails from Peru and was exposed to music during his basic and secondary education, subsequently influenced by Andean music performers. In his early 20s, he established a five-member ensemble, where he had the opportunity to write, compose, and direct. His initial compositions have been showcased in several local and regional competitions and performances.
He has discovered a unique method to navigate the diverse styles inherent in the most prominent Latin music genres, including Cumbia, Bolero, Salsa, Cha Cha, etc., each of them with its own character and elements that necessitate distinct tempos, instrumentation and voice techniques.
In Dublin, Ireland, Eduardo has had the honour of managing the late Mr Danilo Karell, composer, director, and founder of the "Sabor Cubano" salsa band and "Manu and the Latino House" located in Cork. As a result, he became acquainted with and made friends with numerous significant Cuban musicians, including Cuco Castellanos, Evelio Galan, and the well-known international Don Pancho Terry (Eladio Terry). Regarding the fundamentals of Afro-Latin music, they have all been similar to a music conservatory.
Since November 2023, he has been the director and founder of "La Banda del Sur". He also produced four songs for the project in 2024. as well as promoting his music. Eduardo is now collaborating with well-known international singers like Annette Jahnson (Spain) as the lead vocalist for the songs "Amor de Madre" and "Niebla, la ciudad triste" that are part of a new project, a children's story. The song "Amor de Madre" has backing vocals by Vanessa Jackson from Brazil.
