Elephants in the Coldroom
Portlaoise/Mountmellick, County Laois
Elephants in the Coldroom take a different approach to music. They cannot be categorized into a single genre; they are their own. For gigs, they play a wide variety of indie/rock/folk to pop. With their originals, it is a whole different level. Each song portrays a different side of Elephants in the Coldroom. This little trio are truly unique in how they play and write songs.
Stan Manzya, Jordan Murphy and Shannon Doody make up this little trio. Stan is originally from Kazakhstan, while Jordan is from Mountmellick and Shannon from Portlaoise in Laois.
They met in secondary school (Mountmellick Community School) and have been together since 2012. Ever since then, they have only progressed outstandingly, playing on Midlands 103, in Ballyfin House and even supporting the great Jack L (Jack Lukeman) in the Dunamaise Arts Centre on his world tour. They won the IYMAS (Irish Youth Music Awards of 2014) Final in Laois and went forward to perform in the Aviva Stadium. There, they won best sound engineer and best original song.
The Elephant's next goal is to record their E.P this summer (2014).
