Elle León Gallagher

Singer-songwriter // Kilcullen, Kildare // She/Her

Elle León Gallagher, an Irish artist based in Barcelona, gracefully navigates the delicate realms of indie singer-songwriter and retro soul-rock genres.

Following the release of her debut album, 'The Musical' (released on Catalonian indie label El Jardí Amagat, 2022), and several single releases including an ethereal take on traditional song 'Black is the Colour', she has toured across Catalonia and Ireland over the past couple of years. Elle León Gallagher is now preparing to unveil her next chapter: 'A Chara', set for single releases this coming spring and summer 2025, and the album in its entirety in September.

Recorded live with the full band that accompanies her on stage, this new album promises a more direct and heartfelt sound—warmer, more dynamic, and brimming with fresh musical and emotional depth. With 'A Chara', Elle León Gallagher continues to establish herself as an artist to watch, delivering music with that connects on a profoundly human level. A Chara’s songs stem from growth - reflecting on navigating through relationships, friendships, grief, working life and trying to learn from what life has shown you so far.

A Chara means “Dear Friend” in Irish. The record serves as a letter to friendship, something the artist believes is at the foundation of all relationships in some form or another. The music looks back lyrically while the instrumentation has matured along with the artist from her debut album, “The Musical”.

It is a record that acknowledges the past but is mainly looking to the future and life's next set of challenges. Optimism and more than a few hints of nostalgia carry the listener on a trip across songs that will resonate in both heart and mind. A unique and versatile voice matched with relatable discourse and magnetising charisma and personality through her work. Airs of the enchantment of Alice Phoebe Lou, raw lyricism and crunchy guitars of Courtney Barnett or the more classic sounds of Fleetwood Mac or Kate Bush are combinations that may spring to mind.

Over the past years, Elle León Gallagher has supported many international and renowned artists in Barcelona including La Luz, Say She She, Holly Golightly and Ten Tonnes and Divorce among others.
