Eoin Maher is an emerging pop artist from Galway City, Ireland. For the last five years, he has toured across the nation, performing shows in venues such as Adare Manor, The Quays and Luker’s Bar, and has supported artists like Mundy.
The former show jumper left the profession to pursue a career in the music industry and began playing guitar at the age of four. Since then he has gone on to perform his first set at Electric Picnic in September 2019 and subsequently released his debut single ‘Sunlight’ in July 2020 which accumulated over 40,000 streams.
The song went on to receive widespread coverage with Fresh Bread Magazine stating that “When scouting for new music, we all want a breath of fresh air that provides something new and revitalizing to our ears. For those seeking that in newly discovered artists, look no further than Eoin Maher with his new single ‘Sunlight’.”
Working alongside veteran producer Dave Skelton (Rofi James, Faraway Martin, RACHEL), Maher has released consecutive singles that have had a lot of mass appeal, including his last release ‘In The Night’. He cites Ed Sheeran as one of his biggest influences, but also mentions Kaleo, Kodaline, Matt Maeson and Gavin james as being key inspirations in his journey as an artist. Now onto his third single, Eoin Maher is taking it up a level with ‘Altar’, a song about the abrasive effects of the pandemic on society.
When asked about his future plans, Maher responded “It's hard to make solid plans at the moment with a global pandemic at play, but hopefully when normality returns my main aim is to get as much good music out there as possible and aim for the bigger Summer festivals. Since my original music career began in the middle of a pandemic, I look forward to the day when I can play my tracks for people at a live show!”
‘Altar’ will be released across all streaming platforms on the 21st of May and can be pre-saved here.

Tell us three things about yourself?
I am a multi genre artist who has been playing the guitar since 4 years old and singing since I was 14

I am completely self taught playing the guitar. When I was very young my uncle bought a guitar and used to play it, to which i used to mimic and copy and from there I just learned how to play with no outside help or help from the internet. (I don't really remember how)
How would you describe your music?
My music appeals to the average daily listener. I try to make my music as relatable as possible so that the listener can either relate to the emotion being portrayed or the story being portrayed
Who are your musical inspirations?
Ed sheeran (mostly) Kaleo, john Mayer, Kodaline, The Fray
How are you occupying yourself during the coronavirus lockdown?
I am currently working at the moment as i work in essential retail while the music has halted, which keeps me occupied throughout the pandemic, but any free time I have is used to write new music

My favorite track right now is Matt Maeson - Hallucinogenics

One of my favorite lyricists at the moment has to be “NF”. I think his writing skills are out of this world and his lyrics are just phenomenal. I find it hard to pick just one line.

Matt Maeson - ‘Go Easy’
