Étáin

Singer-songwriter // Leitrim // She/Her

With a distinctive songwriting style centred in storytelling and a disarming flow of vulnerability, Étáin approaches her work like a diligent craftswoman, perfecting her writing and delivery to derive the most emotion out of even the smallest of movements.

Receiving the Young Songwriters Award in 2016, Étáin released her debut EP, Sacred Renditions, a year later. She soon followed this with her critically-acclaimed EP, In The Kitchen; a beautiful collection of songs reworking Irish traditional instrumentation into the contemporary indie-folk genre.

Étáin collaborated with Noah Weinman on her latest offering, At Least One. With over 10,000 streams on Spotify, the single may be her most popular release yet. It also received national airplay and critical praise across Ireland and the UK, with When the Horn Blows remarking that 'its unflinching vulnerability is engrossing'. She is currently recording her debut album, due for release in September 2025.

More recently, Étáin has developed an experimental film entitled Cá a nDeachaigh Mé?. As Audio Director and Co-Creator, she worked on the project with multi-disciplinary production company, Dumbworld Productions. Exploring the historical phenomenon of Irish emigration, the film has been screened at film festivals across Ireland, Germany, France, and the UK.

With an intimate delivery that draws the listener closer, and a songwriting style that suspends time itself, Étáin has become known for her captivating live performances. Playing in venues across Europe and as far afield as Cuba, she has performed on the main stage at Sea Sessions, Electric Picnic, and Celtic Connections as well as in the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
